Barbara Harvey – Music

Barbara Harvey has played guitar and sung since she was a teenager. She loves playing for and introducing children to music and different kinds of instruments and has been doing children’s music programs at schools and libraries for many years.

Amy Kobelski – sensory-motor

Amy Kobelski is an experienced pediatric occupational therapist with a passion for educating people on the importance of play and fun in the developmental and learning processes. Amy has a B.S. in occupational therapy and an M.A. in Human Development and Family Studies with a specialization in Child Development. In addition, she is trained as a children’s yoga instructor by Radiant Child Yoga and is a certified personal trainer through the National Academy of Sports Medicine. Her most important and beloved job is being a (mostly) stay-at-home-mama to her two kiddos, Samuel and Elise (both graduates of the St. Mark’s Toddler Playgroup!).

The Sensory Motor group that Amy runs at St. Marks combines her background and knowledge in sensory processing theory and child development, her passion about play, and her love of yoga and what it offers to children. Amy’s Sensory Motor group is designed around supporting the development of motor, sensory processing, cognitive, and social-emotional skills through yoga and play. The group combines games, songs, and activities, which are specifically chosen and designed to work on these skills in ways that are developmentally appropriate. Amy uses the foundations of children’s yoga – breath, movement, and “being present” – on which to build her classes.
